Portnox Local RADIUS update + infrastructure maintenance
Updates
In our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding service, Portnox will be making three new updates to Cloud services between August 25 and September 10:
- Portal routing — internal network routing for cloud.portnox.com, the admin portal you sign in to.
- AD services routing — internal network routing for the services that connect Portnox Cloud to your Active Directory / Entra ID.
- Local RADIUS update — new version (1.1.263) of the Local RADIUS VM and Docker images that handle authentication requests on your network.
Action required: None. Updates and maintenance are applied automatically.
Work is rolling out in three waves based on organization size:
| Organization size | Portal routing | AD services routing | Local RADIUS (VM) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 devices | Tue, Aug 25 | Wed, Aug 26 | Thu, Aug 27 |
| 101–1,000 devices | Tue, Sep 1 | Wed, Sep 2 | Thu, Sep 3 |
| More than 1,000 devices | Tue, Sep 8 | Wed, Sep 9 | Thu, Sep 10 |
All maintenance takes place between 7AM and 8AM UTC. A brief interruption of service lasting no more than a few minutes is possible, however unlikely.
Docker deployments:
Customer running our Autoupdater docker, Local RADIUS Docker will be automatically updated on Thursday, August 27, regardless of organization size.
Other customers will need to manually download and run latest version of Local RADIUS Docker (1.1.263) available on Portnox Docker hub.
We recommend to run our Autoupdater docker to automatically receive updates for all Portnox docker images. Learn how to deploy Portnox Autoupdater here.
What’s in 1.1.263:
- Support for EAP-TEAP chaining
- Fix for accumulating session files, which could eventually exhaust available disk space
- Updated security libraries
