On Sunday, June 29, between approximately 2:00 AM and 9:00 AM CDT, certain instances of our RADIUS service experienced an outage due to an expired certificate.
While certificate renewal is typically an automated and routine process, few service instances failed to register the updated certificate. This led to authentication failures on the affected instances.
Upon identifying the root cause, the Portnox engineering team restarted the impacted instances, allowing the new certificate to be properly recognized and restoring normal operation.
We have updated our internal processes to prevent such occurrences from happening again in the future.
